Wanslea Early Learning & Child Care Centre is situated in the eastern suburbs and provides care and education for up to 90 children per day, from birth to school age. Educators work in partnership with families and management to provide high quality educational programs that are stimulating and lots of fun. Child care is so much more than taking care of children, meeting their physical needs and keeping them busy, and at Wanslea we care about each child’s emotional well-being.
We provide a stimulating environment, catering for the educational needs of young children so that they reach their full potential in a play based learning environment.
The Position:
- Responsible for the day to day leadership and operations of the centre with, and in the absence of the centre manager
- Oversee the centre curriculum and mentor educators as required, under the National Quality Framework
- Assist the manager and educators to provide a stimulating environment, catering for the educational needs of young children so that they reach their full potential in a play based learning environment
- Ability to assist families in a sensitive supportive and professional manner
- Ability to assist in the development and implementation of operational procedures
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Assist manager and staff in the development of their professional skills and knowledge, through training and mentoring opportunities
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum Diploma in children’s services
- Current HLTAID 004 First Aid and child safe environment training certificates
- Proven ability to lead and guide a team
- Leadership experience desirable
